PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating secondary path transfer characteristic in an adaptive noise control (ANC) system.SOLUTION: The method for estimating secondary path transfer characteristic in an adaptive noise control (ANC) system comprises: positioning a microphone array symmetrically with respect to a desired listening position; reproducing at least one test signal using a loud speaker LSarranged in a listening room in order to generate a sound signal; measuring the sound signal using microphones M,, M,, M,, M, and[ of the microphone array; calculating the numeric representation for each secondary path transfer characteristic on the basis of the test signals and each microphone signal; and averaging the calculated numeric representation to estimate the secondary path transfer characteristics S(z) to be used in the ANC system.
