PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary engine starts in an engine starting device having a key switch.SOLUTION: An engine starting device 1 is installed in a vehicle V as a hybrid vehicle having plural operation modes. The engine starting device comprises: a starter 11 for starting an engine 10; a key switch 50 for outputting a starter operation signal for operating the starter 11; a vehicle ECU 43 for operating the starter 11 in response to input of a starter operation signal output from the key switch 50; a PHVECU 40 for determining whether or not starting of the engine 10 is required on the basis of a current operation mode of the vehicle V; and a cut-off relay 53 for cutting off input of a starter operation signal to the vehicle ECU 43 when the PHVECU 40 determines that starting of the engine 10 is not required.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
