PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that reduces a situation where rotation of a developer carrier causes a crack in or damage to the surface in contact with an image carrier and end seals, and toner leaks out through the crack or damage.SOLUTION: The developing device includes: end seals 28 that are in contact with a developer carrier 25 to prevent a developer from leaking from between a developer container and the ends in the longitudinal direction of the developer carrier; and a lubricant having a reverse polarity to that of the developer that is carried on a surface area of the developer carrier in contact with an image carrier 1 and the end seals when the developer carrier rotates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
