PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for assisting manual focus adjustment by a photographer without depending on a depth of field.SOLUTION: In an imaging device 100, when an imaging element 107 converts the optical image of a subject into a video signal, and a display part 117 displays the video signal, a depth of field calculation part 111 calculates a depth of field in the case of obtaining the optical image, and a band determination part 112 determines a frequency band for detecting the edge of the subject included in a video in accordance with the calculated depth of field, and an edge detection part 113 detects an edge component from the video signal on the basis of the frequency band determined by the band determination part 112, and a control part 101 performs focus display based on the edge component detected by the edge detection part 113 to the video displayed by the display part 117.
