PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress vehicle vibration (muffle sound) when bringing a lockup mechanism of a torque converter into a lockup-on state.SOLUTION: When switching a compression ratio to a low-pressure compression ratio from a high-pressure compression ratio, and switching a lockup mechanism of a torque converter to a lockup-on state from a lockup-off state, a variable valve timing mechanism is controlled so that intake valve-opening timing is apart from a lower dead point, and the ignition timing of an internal combustion engine is retarded. By this constitution, since a torque variation within one cycle of the internal combustion engine is lowered, vehicle vibration (muffle sound) resulting from a response delay of the compression ratio can be quickly reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
