PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission device that can suppress exfoliation of dam material.SOLUTION: A light emission device 10 has a substrate 11, an LED chip 12 mounted on the substrate 11, a sealing member 13 for sealing the LED chip 12, a buffer layer 14 formed on the substrate 11, and a dam material 15 which is provided on the upper surface of the buffer layer 14 to dam the sealing member 13. The adhesion strength of the buffer layer 14 to the substrate 11 and the adhesion strength of the dam material 15 to the buffer layer 14 are higher than the adhesion strength of the dam material 15 to the substrate 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
