The present invention relates to a method for reducing the volume of three-dimensional modeling data and a system for performing the same, the method comprising the steps of: selecting a block object in three-dimensional modeling data; extracting a target object which can be compared with the block object; comparing the block object and the target object; and setting the target object as a reference object when it is considered that the block object is identical to the target object.
