[Problem] To provide an abatement device that maintains only a pilot light and safely stops a burner flame inside a combustor, and that is capable of rendering a gas to be processed harmless by rapidly and completely burning said gas, without delay, upon resuming combustion. [Solution] An abatement device M is provided with: an abatement device body 2 equipped with a combustor into which a gas to be processed is introduced; a burner 3 that forms a flame required for combustion or thermal decomposition inside the combustor; a pilot burner 4 that forms a pilot light required for igniting the burner; a combustion-assisting gas supply means 5 that functions as a means of supplying, to the burner, a flammable fuel required to form a flame as a first combustion-assisting gas, and a means of supplying, to the burner, air or oxygen required to form a flame as second combustion-assisting gas; and a reverse flow preventing means 6 that prevents the phenomenon of unburned gas fuel etc., remaining after burning by the pilot light, from flowing back to the combustion-assisting gas supply means side when combustion or thermal decomposition of the gas to be processed by the flame is stopped. |
