PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a vehicle occupant from feeling uncomfortable about noise generated from a vehicle and improve fuel economy by correcting target fuel pressure by considering an attributable proportion of the noise generated by an internal combustion engine to the overall noise of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine for controlling the internal combustion engine mounted to a vehicle includes: vehicle speed detection means for detecting the speed of the vehicle; gear detection means for detecting a gear stage of a transmission of the vehicle; and target fuel pressure calculation means for calculating target fuel pressure within a common rail of the vehicle. The target fuel pressure calculation means corrects target fuel pressure on the basis of the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detection means and the gear stage detected by the gear detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
