PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlash adjustment mechanism capable of reducing backlash of a worm gear even in the state where abrasion of the worm wheel progressed.SOLUTION: A power steering device assists steering force by a driving force of an electric motor M, which is transmitted via a worm gear 10 constituted of a worm shaft 11 and a worm wheel 12, comprises: a slider 37 provided in a gear housing 9 which houses the worm gear so as to move on a flat surface substantially orthogonal to the worm shaft; a first sliding surface 30 provided for an outer peripheral side of ball bearings 25 which are press-fit into the worm shaft; and a second sliding surface 40 which is provided for the slider so as to slide with the first sliding surface, formed in an inclined shape with respect to a moving direction of the slider, and energizes the worm shaft in a direction approaching the worm wheel via a second coil spring 39 along with the sliding with the first sliding surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
