PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to absorb each allowance between a steering hanger beam, and left and right front pillars.SOLUTION: Both ends of a steering hanger beam 40 are attached between left and right front pillars 12. Left and right inner pillars 30 have left and right contact surfaces 31 opposite to both ends of the beam. The left and right contact surfaces are gradually inclined to a vehicle width center as advance from the rear to the front. Both ends of the beam have left and right side holders 50 which overlap with the left and right contact surfaces. Left and right end faces 51 of the left and right holders have an inclination same as that of the left and right contact surfaces. Left and right open holes 22, 32, 52, which are positioned in a vehicle width direction, are provided on each front pillar and each holder. The open hole of the left and the right front pillars is a long hole which is long in a cross direction. The left and right holders are fastened to the left and right front pillars by left and right fastening members 61 which are inserted into the long holes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
