PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when current is fed from a current supply member to an intermediate transfer belt to form primary transfer potential in a primary transfer unit, it is difficult to suppress a variation in the primary transfer potential and secure good primary transferability.SOLUTION: In an area between tension members where a primary transfer surface of an intermediate transfer belt to which toner images are transferred from a plurality of image carriers is formed, a voltage maintenance element is connected to a contact member that contacts the intermediate transfer belt so as to suppress a variation in potential of the intermediate transfer belt between respective stations.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
