PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress brightness of a surface of a transcribing medium for protecting a personal authentication medium and the like as a recording medium and prevent fingerprints and dust from attaching the surface.SOLUTION: The medium protecting ribbon comprises: an adhesion layer including thermoplastic resin to be adhered to a recording medium made of resin or paper; a protection layer laminated with the adhesion layer; and a peeling layer that is held in a state where some of fine particles are protruded from a surface thereof on which the protection layer is laminated and laminated with the protection layer; and a transcribing substrate laminated with a peeling layer, where the protection layer is thermally transcribed onto the recording medium by the adhesion layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
