PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capacitate an intuitive and easy to understand operation in a virtual space display device.SOLUTION: An image display unit 20 visually presents a virtual space to an observer. A position attitude detection unit 22 and a position attitude calculation unit 30 detect a viewpoint position of the observer in real space. A virtual space image generation unit 32 generates an image of the virtual space displayed on image display means. The virtual space image generation unit 32 has what is between a first reference position in the real space corresponding to the position of a display object in the virtual space and a second reference position set at a predetermined reference distance from the first reference position be a defined range, and size of the display object in the virtual space is varied by a predetermined function according to the distance between the viewpoint position and the first reference position in the defined range. The function is monotonically increasing in a wide sense to a decrease in distance and has a section where variation in size between sections becomes greater than the variation of an inverse number to the distance as the section within the defined range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
