PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To block the propagation of noise generated in a joint by a simple and compact structure.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint comprises a bottomed cup-shaped outside joint member 10 having an opening part 13 at one end, and an inside joint member 20 which transmits torque while permitting angular displacement between the outside joint member 10 and itself via a ball 30. An internal component including the ball 30 and the inside joint member 20 is accommodated in the outside joint member 10. An external peripheral face of the outside joint member 10 is coated with a block material 64 which is formed integrally with a boot 60 by axially extending a large-diameter end part 61 of the boot 60 which is caulked and fixed to an external peripheral face of the opening part 13 of the outside joint member 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
