PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece carrying method and a workpiece carrying device capable of preventing damaging of a workpiece during workpiece carrying, shortening the cycle time of the workpiece carrying, and automatically carrying out return work after a safety mechanism operation without any operator's manual work.SOLUTION: The workpiece W of a first position is held by a workpiece holding mechanism 11 to be carried to a second position different from the first position. The carrying includes the workpiece holding step of moving from the standby position of the workpiece holding mechanism to hold the workpiece W of the first position, the upward carrying step of vertically the workpiece upward, the horizontal carrying step of horizontally carrying the workpiece to reach a vertical axis L2 at the second position, a downward carrying step of vertically moving the held workpiece W downward to seat it at the second position, a holding releasing step, and the return step of retuning the workpiece holding mechanism to the standby position along a carrying path set within a plane crossing a vertical plane including the carrying path of the horizontal carrying step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
