Disclosed is a method to prepare carboxylic acid with ozone. The preparation method comprises steps of: exposing ozone to cycloalkanes or benzenes at fixed temperature and pressure under a condition of exposing a light to ozone and a condition of not exposing a light; and obtaining alkane dicarboxylic acid or benzene carboxylic acid. The preparation method of the present invention conducts reaction at room temperature and at normal atmospheric pressure, and does not generate harmful byproducts. Therefore, the preparation method is simple and has little energy consumption while being environment-friendly.
