A method of controlling the selection by a communication device of a preferred cell from a plurality of cells in a cellular communications network, the method comprising: determining network conditions associated with the cellular communications network; setting cell-selection parameters based on the determined network conditions, the cell-selection parameters being employed by the communication device in selecting the preferred cell from the plurality of cells, thereby to influence the selection by the communication device of the preferred cell; and communicating the cell-selection parameters to the communication device. |
