Provided is a media processing device with which it is possible to suppress an increase in the time required for media processing. The media processing device is provided with a differentiation unit for differentiating media, a conveying path for conveying the media, and a control unit for determining a conveying destination for the media and controlling the conveying path. When a prescribed differentiation result is acquired by the differentiation unit, the control unit commands the conveying path to stop, the differentiation unit re-differentiates the media, and the control unit determines the conveying destination of the media on the basis of the result of the re-differentiation. |
