NETWORK-BASED FLAT ROUTING METHOD

The present invention relates to the field of the Internet, and discloses a network-based flat routing method, comprising the following steps: (A) a network is divided into a data plane and a control plane, and a cross-layer 2 network routing capable of wildcard matching is established; (B) the control plane establishes a precise matching policy for each cross-layer 2 communications flow; (C) the control plane maintains the position information of all hosts. The present invention is advantageous in that the solution can be applied to any network topology and does not require a direct connection to the layer 2 switch of the layer 2 network where each host is located, thereby substantially reducing the number of network devices needed to connect to the control plane.
