PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly provide vehicle periphery information to be recognized by a driver in bringing a vehicle to an edge of the road.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 5 acquires photographed images (hereinafter referred to as vehicle peripheral images) photographed by a front camera 11 that continuously photographs the periphery of a vehicle, a rear camera 12, and a left-side camera 13 and a right-side camera 14, from the cameras 11 to 14. The image processing apparatus 5 measures the distance between the vehicle and a roadway outside line present in the vicinity of an edge of the road on which the vehicle is traveling (hereinafter referred to as outside line distance). The image processing apparatus 5 creates a display image in which a display mode of the vehicle peripheral image has been changed according to the measured outside line distance by using the acquired vehicle peripheral image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
