PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which has superior cycle characteristics and in which the worsening of the cycle characteristics owing to a change in volume accompanying occlusion and release of lithium ions is suppressed.SOLUTION: An electrode for a secondary battery comprises: a current collector 1; and an active material layer 4 on the current collector, which is formed from a composition for active material formation including at least an active material 2, a binder resin and a foaming agent. The active material layer 4 has cavities 3 resulting from the foaming by the foaming agent. The active material 2 consists of SiOx. The foaming agent has an average particle diameter within a range of 0.1-30 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
