PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a main subject even in the case where a position designated by a user and a position of the main subject are displaced in an image.SOLUTION: An image processing system includes: imaging means for generating an image from a subject image that is formed by an imaging optical system; designation means for designating coordinates of a subject in the image that is generated by the imaging means; candidate selection means for detecting feature information being present in a predetermined ratio inside of a region within a predetermined range from the coordinates designated by the designation means and defining the feature information as a main subject information candidate; and determination means for determining feature information of the main subject on the basis of the coordinates designated by the designation means and a distribution state of feature information similar to the main subject information candidate in the entire image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
