A mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal includes: a display part which is converted from any one between an active state and an inactive state to another state; and a control part which detects user touch inputs inputted by using simultaneously or successively fingers when the display part is in the inactive state, releases a locking state of the terminal when the detected touch inputs are matched with a predetermined pattern, and switches the inactive state of the display part into the active state. The predetermined pattern may a set pattern for releasing the locking state. Thereby, user security and user convenience can be improved. |
