PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device that can suppress deterioration in cutting quality and deterioration in durability of a rotary blade while suppressing occurence of a cutting failure, and a recording device.SOLUTION: The cutting deice, equipped with a blade member having a rotary blade and configured to cut an object by relative movement, in a cutting direction, of the object and the cutting member, comprises changing means that changes peripheral speed of the rotary blade while cutting the object. The changing means makes the peripheral speed of the rotary blade in a first cutting operation from the start time of cutting the object until cutting a predetermined amount thereof higher than peripheral speed of the rotary blade in a second cutting operation that cutts the object after the first cutting operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
