The invention relates to a device for emission of polarized light and its detection, the device comprising a light emitter (16) configured to generate an outgoing light beam directed along an optical emission axis (54), a light receiver (15) configured to detect an incoming light beam directed along an optical detection axis (53), and a polarization unit (17) positioned in the optical emission axis (54) and optical detection axis (53) and configured to polarize the outgoing light beam and the incoming light beam. In order to allow a compact assembly the device, in particular by reducing the number of its constituent parts, by also providing a good detection reliability of the device, the invention proposes that the optical emission axis (54) and the optical detection axis (53) are angled with respect to one another such that they comprise an intersection point (55) and the polarization unit (17) comprises a polarizer (35) configured to deflect light from at least one of the incoming light beam towards the optical detection axis (53) and the outgoing light beam away from the optical emission axis (54), said deflected light being defined by a polarization state produced by the polarizer (35). |
