The present invention relates to an iris recognition apparatus and method. The iris recognition apparatus comprises: a camera which acquires eyeball image data; and a control module which estimates an iris on the basis of a pupil extracted from the eyeball image data, acquires at least one candidate boundary for iris confirmation, selects a final boundary from at least one candidate boundary, and recognizes the final boundary as an iris. The present invention may be applied to another embodiment. |
