An image forming apparatus 1 according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a differential transformer type magnetic sensor 3 providing an output corresponding to a height of toner contained in a development part 117. The differential transformer type magnetic sensor 3 includes a board 21, a drive coil 4,5, a first differential coil 6, and a second differential coil 7. The differential transformer type magnetic sensor 3 is disposed on the development part 117 so that a central portion of each of the drive coil4,5, the first differential coil 6, and the second differential coil 7 is located at a position of a reference height of the toner contained in the development part 117 with the first direction set to be vertical and with the second direction set to be horizontal. |
