The present invention relates to a method for setting a shortcut key through fingerprint recognition of a smart device so that the smart device can be conveniently used by setting a shortcut key through fingerprint recognition and a predetermined motion. According to the present invention, the method includes: a fingerprint registration of registering at least one fingerprint of a user; a setting step of setting the registered fingerprint to be linked with a specific application after registering the fingerprint; a fingerprint recognizing step of allowing the fingerprint of the user to be recognized by a smartphone to execute the set application; a fingerprint comparing step of comparing the registered fingerprint with the recognized fingerprint to determine if the registered fingerprint is matched with the recognized fingerprint; an input step of receiving an input of the predetermined motion when fingerprint patterns are matched with each other in the fingerprint comparing step; and an executing step of executing an application according to the predetermined motion.
