The present invention relates to a method for automatically registering a dental image, an apparatus and a recording medium therefor. The apparatus for automatically registering a dental image according to the present invention detects a maximum outer region of teeth from dental image data and automatically performs image registration based on an image feature point extracted from the maximum outer region. The image registration is performed with high accuracy in comparison with user′s manual operation, and also user′s convenience is increased. In addition, reducing time necessary for an implant plan and accuracy of the implant plan are improved.
