A device for fixing cladding panels 10 on a wall or ceiling, comprises spaced U-shaped brackets 6 having a ridge portion 6.1 to be fixed to the wall or ceiling. A bar 4 with an I-shaped cross section has two side parts 4.1 and a middle ridge 4.2 formed from metal strips, wherein both side parts are connected by bolts 4.3. One of the bolts also connects the bar to the bracket. Mounting portions 11 on the cladding panels 10b have cut-outs for hanging on the bolt. Struts 5 may connect the side parts of neighbouring bars. The mounting portions may be formed from sheet metal strips and the cut-outs may be V-shaped. Also claimed is a cladding panel which is resistant to explosion pressure and is formed from a cement material with integrates expanded clay coated in a layer of mesh. |
