Assembly comprising a support and a connecting insert, and method for assembling same

The assembly has a polygonal shaped connecting insert (20) with a flange (24) in axial stop against a side (11) of a support (10), and a shaft (22) received in a traversing opening (14) of the support. A rotation preventing unit prevents rotation of the shaft within the opening. A mutual wedging unit assures the mutual wedging between the insert and the support. The wedging unit has wedging tongue provided for the support and folded opposite the side. The tongue exerts residual wedging force on an opposite side of the insert, where the force is radially directed inward to the opening. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a polygonal shaped connecting insert and support assembly.
