Production of multifunctional functional unit with rigid support structure includes on a second side remote from a first side, flooding a plastics film (4) in the same injection mold or, after transfer of a blank into a further injection mold, in this further injection mold, all over with a transparent curing casting compound in reaction injection molding (RIM) method, and coating to form a continuous transparent surface layer over the entire functional unit; and inserting control components and/or display components (6) into recesses and joining to the plastics support. Production of multifunctional functional unit with rigid support structure, in which control components and/or display components are arranged behind a transparent surface layer, which is continuous over the entire functional unit, comprises initially introducing a flat, flexible and at least in places transparent plastics film with a thickness of 0.05-0.4 mm, where positioning hole(s) is punched into this plastics film (1); introducing the flat plastics film in a precisely positioned manner, using the positioning hole, into an injection mold provided with a corresponding positioning mechanism, for engaging in the positioning hole; back-injecting the plastics film (2) to form a continuous hard plastics support on the first side, where injection mold is designed such that, in the region of the control components and/or display components, the plastics film is not back-injected in places and remains bare in the form of >= 2 recesses; on the second side remote from the first side, flooding the plastics film (4) in the same injection mold or, after transfer of the blank into a further injection mold, in this further injection mold, all over with a transparent curing casting compound in RIM method, and coating to form a continuous transparent surface layer with a thickness of >= 0.1 mm over the entire functional unit, where membrane regions, which are flexible in places, are formed in the region of the recesses; and inserting control components and/or display components (6) into the recesses and joining to the plastics support. The display component is LCD display, which is a touch-sensitive display. An independent claim is included for multifunctional functional unit with control component(s) and display component(s). |
