A frangible connector for clamping two plates which have aligned slots together, the connector having a 1stend having a retaining flange spaced from the end and a 2ndend also having a retaining flange towards that end, wherein the 1stand 2ndends are spaced by a shaft, the shaft having a cross-section with an elongate shape and having deformable portions which, in use, deform when the connector is rotated within the aligned slots of the clamped plates, thus preventing removal by counter rotation. Part of the connector, preferably the 1stend flange, is frangible in response to a force in the direction aligned with the shaft, so that it fails and no longer clamps the plates together. The connector is preferably a one-piece moulding. The deformable portions are preferably opposed resilient tabs spaced from a main body of the shaft. |
