Provided is a dentrifice composition with which high cleaning strength is secured, which gives a sense of effective toothbrushing, feels good when used without foreign body sensations, etc., and which also has superior formability and product appearance. The dentrifice composition is characterized in containing: (A) 40-60 mass% of calcium carbonate; (B) 0.5-7 mass% of silica granules with particle diameters in the range of 53-250 µm; (C) carboxymethylcellulose sodium, the viscosity at 25°C of a 2 mass% aqueous solution of which is 200-600 mPa°s; and (D) carboxymethylcellulose sodium, the viscosity at 25°C of a 2 mass% aqueous solution of which is 700-1500 mPa°s; wherein the mass ratio of (D)/(C) is 1.0-3. |
