<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detector capable of focus detection covering a wide range and of high accuracy when an imaging lens causes vignetting. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is an imaging apparatus that includes an optical system, which forms a pair of optical images on a line sensor by a pair of light fluxes passing through a predetermined region of an entrance pupil, and detects the focus state of an imaging lens to control the position of the imaging lens based on a phase difference between the pair of optical images. The apparatus has: focus detection means for detecting the focus state of the imaging lens; determination means for determining a position at which vignetting is generated when vignetting is generated in the pair of light fluxes; and calculation means for performing weighting so as to make the signal intensity of the optical image corresponding to the position at which vignetting is generated to perform correlation operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
