<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic nitrogen fixation method by which nitrogen oxide is produced using nitrogen gas and oxygen gas as raw materials through an electrochemical reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolytic nitrogen fixation method comprises: a step of preparing an electrolyte 23 that comprises a molten salt and is in contact with an anode 21 and a cathode 22; a step of supplying the nitrogen gas to the cathode 22; a step of supplying the oxygen gas into the electrolyte 23; a step of applying a voltage between the anode 21 and the cathode 22 so as to induce production of nitride ions at the cathode 22 and production of oxygen at the anode; and a step of bringing the produced nitride ions in contact with the supplied oxygen. Alternatively, the electrolytic nitrogen fixation method comprises: a step of preparing an electrolyte interposed between the anode and the cathode; a step of bringing the nitrogen gas into contact with the anode; a step of bringing the oxygen gas into contact with the cathode; and a step of applying a voltage between the anode and the cathode so as to induce production of oxide ions at the cathode and production of nitrogen oxide through oxidation of oxide ions at the anode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
