PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent resin particle and an absorbent article that do not cause discomfort due to stuffiness.SOLUTION: The absorbent resin particle includes: a crosslinked polymer (A) including a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolysable vinyl monomer (a2), and a crosslinking agent (a3) as indispensable constituent units; and a nitrogen-containing compound (B) represented by general formula (1), wherein a content of (B) based on the total weight of (A) and (B) is 5-40 wt.%.
