The invention relates to aqueous dispersions having a content of charged primary particles dispersed therein, which have a particle size of 10 to 1000 nm, and which have a lipid matrix and contain active ingredients which are amphiphilic and are anchored in the interface of the primary particles such that the lipophilic component thereof points inward into the particle matrix and the hydrophilic component thereof (generally polar groups) points outward into the dispersion. These are especially solid liquid nanoparticles (SLNs) which can be used as carrier systems for active cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients, especially for use on the skin. The invention further relates to a production process for such dispersions, in which the nanoscale primary particles are obtained by means of a counterjet high-pressure homogenizer at elevated temperature. Here, the principle of phase inversion is implemented over the phase volume ratio.
