The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing a high boiling point residue, and a method therefor. The apparatus for removing a high boiling point residue comprises: a vaporizer vaporizing a used refrigerant recovered from a vehicle and discharging oil separated from the used refrigerant; and an oil separator receiving the used refrigerant vaporized from the vaporizer and separating fine oil particles remaining in the used refrigerant from the used refrigerant. Provided are the method for removing a high boiling point residue from a used refrigerant and the apparatus therefor, improving an oil removal rate of separating oil from the used refrigerant to improve recyclability of the used refrigerant.
