A developing device and an image forming apparatus including the developing device are provided. The developing device includes a housing, a developer carrier which is rotatably supported by the housing, and which carries developer on a circumferential surface thereof, a layer thickness regulating member which includes, a blade contacting the circumferential surface of the developer carrier along a rotational axial direction of the developer carrier, and a support member supporting the blade, the layer thickness regulating member for regulating a layer thickness of the developer on the circumferential surface of the developer carrier. The support member includes: a contact part which contacts the blade; and a pair of attachment parts which are attached to the housing. The attachment parts are provide at both sides of the contact part in the rotational axial direction and are further protruded than the contact part in a direction away from the developer carrier. |

1. A developing device comprising:
a housing; a developer carrier which is rotatably supported by the housing, and having a circumferential surface that is configured to carry developer thereon; a layer thickness regulating member which includes:
a blade with a first end portion configured to contact the circumferential surface of the developer carrier along an axial direction of the developer carrier and a second end portion spaced from the first end portion; anda support member supporting the blade; and first and second screws that attach the layer thickness regulating member to the housing, wherein the support member includes:
a first attachment part, which is attached to the housing, the first attachment part being formed with a first attachment hole penetrating therethrough in a penetrating direction, the first attachment hole into which the first screw is inserted;a second attachment part, which is attached to the housing, the second attachment part being formed with a second attachment hole penetrating therethrough in a direction parallel to the penetrating direction, the second attachment hole into which the second screw is inserted; anda contact part which contacts the blade at a second end portion of the blade, wherein the second end portion of the blade is spaced from the first end portion of the blade in a direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction of the developer carrier and perpendicular to the penetrating direction, wherein the first attachment part is provided at one side of the contact part in the axial direction and perpendicular to the penetrating direction, and all of the second attachment hole of the second attachment part is located beyond the contact part contacting the second end portion of the blade in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction and perpendicular to the penetrating direction. |
