The present invention relates to an automatic telephony service method using a browser extension function running in a background that may enable a user to search a telephone directory on a web page for a telephone number and then to make a call to a user of the telephone number with a wired/wireless phone through a one-time touch or button click by additionally providing only an extended function without a change in the original function of an existing web page, and by using the browser extension function running in the background. The automatic telephony service method comprises the steps of: (A) inputting server URL information, and at least one attribute in a document object model (DOM) tree structure in a web page configuration; (B) searching a web page for at least one attribute in the DOM tree structure in the background, by using the browser extension function; (C) generating a call icon for the attribute searched by using the browser extension function in the DOM tree structure of the web page; (D) transmitting a user ID and a called number to a server to provide a call service to the web page through the browser extension function based on the user ID and the receiving number from a server, when the call icon generated on the web page is clicked; and (E) changing the call icon of the web page based on a call connection state input through the call service received from the server on the web page. |
