When reproducing a moving image, a recording environment having less dependency on a terminal is provided using only a standard decoding function of a browser, and a smooth moving image reproduction is implemented by improving a compression rate. When a compressed data of the moving image to be played on a client′s terminal (2) is generated and saved in a web server (1), each frame configuring the moving image is sequentially JPEG-compressed in a unit of a JPEG block, and is connected to a compressed still image data (12). By adopting a motion compensation between frames, data available from the previous frames is not connected to the data of the JPEG compressed still image (12), instead a description thereof is recorded on a compressed data (13) to recover the moving image. A display program (11) interpreted by a browser (21) is configured to reconstruct an original moving image from the generated JPEG compressed image. The display program (11) is downloaded to the client′s terminal (2) and executed, thereby the moving image is displayed on a display screen (22). |
