754,412. Endless-chain conveyers. OELLRICH, A., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI A. BEIEN]. Oct. 15, 1954 [Oct. 29, 1953; Dec. 16, 1953], No. 29785/54. Class 78 (1). In a double-chain scraper conveyer of the kind in which material is drawn over a U- shaped plate 1, Fig. 1, and interconnected guide plates 2, 3 are provided for the upper and lower runs of the chain, the guides are hardened at intervals along the length of the trough in the zones 4a, 4b and the parts 5 are left unhardened throughout the length of the trough. The conveyer comprises a number of sections such as 7, 8, Fig. 2, arranged end-to-end. Hardened zones 4 are provided at each end and at the middle of each section and are separated by unhardened zones 6. The spacing of the scraper bars 9 of the conveyer is such that at any instant not more than two adjacent bars are so positioned that the chain links carrying them run on unhardened zones. |
