METHODS FOR INHIBITING SENESCENCE AND DEDIFFERENTIATION OF CHONDROCYTES USING RHEB GENE

Provided are a method for inhibiting senescence and dedifferentiation of chondrocytes, comprising a step of converting chondrocytes with genes coding Rheb proteins; and chondrocytes of which senescence and dedifferentiation are inhibited by being converted with genes coding Rheb proteins. According to the present invention, the method for inhibiting senescence and dedifferentiation can culture chondrocytes having normal proliferation ability and phenotype in a large quantity by suppressing senescence and dedifferentiation occurring in a monolayer culture of chondrocytes. Also, the method according to the present invention can improve low recovery rate of chondrocytes in an autologous chondrocyte structure, thereby being useful to apply for manufacturing chondrocytes for cell therapy.
