1. A microcracked porous cordierite ceramic honeycomb body, comprising:
a total porosity (% P) of from about 40% to about 50%, where all the pores of the honeycomb body are interconnected; a median pore size (d50) in the range of from 2 microns to 10 microns; a cell density of 600 to 900 cells per square inch; a microcracked density (Nb3) of greater than 0.4; and a modulus of rupture strength (MOR) of at least 1.52 MPa, wherein the honeycomb body comprises a plurality of parallel cell channels separated by porous cell channel walls having a wall thickness of from 50 to 300 microns, and the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) in an axial direction is less than about 3.0×10−7/° C. over from about 25° C. to about 800° C. |
