The present invention relates to a multistage latch device for a vehicle seat. The objective of the present invention is to provide the multistage latch device for the vehicle seat capable of improving convenience of a passenger by adjusting an inclination angle of a rear seat back of a vehicle by one cam and one latch whose rotation directions are orthogonal. The multistage latch device of the present invention includes: a mounting plate which comprises a cam insertion hole, and has a space part formed to be linked to the cam insertion hole inside; a latch which is installed by a latch axis to be able to rotate in the space part of the mounting plate, and wherein a first and a second mounting hole sequentially inserted into a first and a second striker installed at a vehicle body are formed separately from each other; a latch spring which is installed in the space part of the mounting plate so that one side is connected to the latch and the other side is supported by contacting one side of the mounting plate; a cam which confines rotation of the latch by being inserted into a first and a second cam confinement groove of the latch through the cam insertion hole of the mounting plate; a cam bracket which is connected to the cam so that the cam is rotated by being fixed to one side of the mounting plate; a cam spring which is installed in the cam bracket so that one side is supported by contacting the cam bracket and the other side is supported by contacting the cam; and an operation part which rotates the cam around a cam axis by being connected to the cam by a hinge axis.
