The present invention relates to a method for controlling a motor driven power steering system. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving, by an input unit, traffic information on a preset cycle; predicting, by a motor driven power steering system control unit, the running speed of a vehicle based on the received traffic information; setting, by the motor driven power steering system control unit, a steering feel based on the predicted running speed; and assisting, by the motor driven power steering system control unit, steering torque corresponding to the steering feel which is set through a motor. According to the present invention, driver′s satisfaction can be increased by providing the optimum steering feel which reflects traffic information received in real time through interlocking with path navigation equipment. |
