The present invention relates to a pouch-type rechargeable battery, comprising: an electrode assembly; an electrode lead coupled to the electrode assembly; and a pouch enclosure including an upper pouch having a panel-shaped central area, a lower pouch having a space in a central area to accommodate the electrode assembly, and a sealing unit provided at edges of the upper and lower pouches to be sealed. The sealing unit is configured to comprise a front-surface-arranged sealing unit whose at least one side is folded to an upper portion of the upper pouch. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a pouch-type rechargeable battery with a compact shape and improved cooling efficiency.
