The present invention provides an impact absorbing decelerator of a motor driven power steering apparatus, having a new structure improved to easily absorb clearance and impact in a radial direction and in an axial direction. To achieve the above described object, the impact absorbing decelerator of a motor driven power steering apparatus comprises a power transfer shaft, impact absorption members used as a coupler and a worm shaft. The power transfer shaft is connected to an output side of a motor. The impact absorption members used as a coupler are mounted on both ends of the power transfer shaft to transfer motor rotational torque and absorb clearance and impact in the axial direction and the radial direction. The worm shaft is coupled to the outer circumference of the impact absorbing members used as a coupler to receive the motor rotational torque and is engaged with a worm wheel. |
